Karisto has had the pleasure of this lovely breed for 13 years Feb 08, and can honestly say we have had pitfalls, but to out way the pitfalls the overwhelming pleasure that this loving breed gives back to you.

The first bitch (Pigmented Cream) Mishka came in Feb. 1995. This girl had to be spayed at the tender age of 2 1/2 years, due to her showing Sharpei Fevers.

Then came Wispa my second Pei, I had waited nearly 3 years for a Chocolate bitch, she was my total dream come true. Chippa then came to the hap-Pei dog house :-) Then along came Alpha she was the next to join the mad Sharpei family :-) Unfortunately disaster struck I was heart broken :-( I had to have my darling babe "Wispa" put to sleep on the 26 January 2001, please take time to visit her site, just click on Wispa's photo, here on this page to be taken straight there. Still in my heart and my memories oh treasured one.

I also had another pitfall along the way with my Chocolate male.   At the tender age of 4 months Joshua was diagnosed has having  NO HIP SOCKETS IN EITHER HIP, so this young lad, after months of successful treatment went on towards not needing the help of tablets etc and lived his life to the full. Joshua had unfortunately been diagnosed with aggressive Mast Cell Cancer (June 06) and he did enjoy his short precious time he had left as comfortable as possible with myself and his Pei friends and wanted for nothing. Josh was given the greatest gift a loving owner can give, his dignity and was allowed to peacefully go on to Rainbow Bridge on Monday 7th August 2006, to awake over the bridge to pain free days & nights of play with his previous Rainbow Bridge Kids. May 07 saw the introduction of our stunning black Tri Australian Shepherd "Drew" from the Armatan Kennels, he's a handful, but so playful and thinks he's an honorary Shar pei and his best friend is Ash, they play together all- day. I'd like to thank Geoff, Pat and Sarah for our beautiful boy that I've waited so long for.. He's a TRUE credit to your breeding plans.
